Hello, I'm hoping you can appraise my painting. It looks to me like an Eduardo Von Grutzner, but that's just a guess, based on my Internet searches. I don't see a signature on the front and haven't tried to remove the frame to inspect the back. It seems to be painted on wood rather than canvas, and has a small chip on the lower right front. It's approximate 15" wide by 20" long (measured dimensions from the back, inside the frame). If it makes sense to have the painting restored I'd be interested in doing that and/or selling it.
My parents bought it at an antique shop in West Berlin, Germany between 1969-1975.
Dear Michelle,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
For advice on identifying a painting, please contact a local branch of a reputable art dealer or auction house who may want to see your work in person.
For your information, original and similar paintings by Edward von Grutzner (1846-1925) can be estimated at the moment between and USD 3,500 and USD 4,500.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Karine
