I bought this footed bowl at my local Goodwill for $6. Based on my own online research, it appears to be a Pre-Columbian Narino bowl. I have no way of knowing if it is authentic or how it got to a Goodwill in Tallahassee, FL. I also wonder if it is in the United States legally. The bowl is 7 5/8 in diameter and 4 1/2 in high. It weighs 1 lb, 3.3 oz. It has no cracks. There is a small chip in the foot and a tiny chip in the interior glaze. Caked soil is inside the foot. The outside of the bowl is red clay color with smoothed surface around the top half. The outside shows wear. The bowl feels sturdy when handled, not fragile. The inside design is painted in brown and appears unworn. The design has four quadrants and a center, all with a symbol that might be a sun or a star. The small repeated figures in the design look to my untrained eye like a record of some sort of count: people, animals, plantings?
