This is an antique, 19th century, framed original oil painting by the Russian painter, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky (1817 - 1900). It is titled Egypt and dated 1843. He is most well-known as a seascape painter. He was quite prolific which is exemplified by the long and strong auction history of past sales. The estimate is based on the presumption that this is an work by Aivazovsky, however this valuation does not serve as an authentication of the work. Generally, the more tumultuous the scene depicted the higher the sale price. This is a calm evening scene. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
