This is an Egyptian made rug using local wool and synthetic material and dye= to imitate Persian rugs. Note that the left size has been stretched, hence the distorted look. size: 6'-3"x3'-7"

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be what you suggested, an egyptian rug based on persian tribal designs. The design of birds and flowers around a central star shaped ornament is very decorative, predominant colours are dark red, ligther shades of red and orange on dark blue surrounded by a flower ornament decorated border. A slight distortion is not necesarrily a disadvantage, it is proof of a hand crafted rug. The estimate is based on similar sold or offered at auction.
