Empirical Rolled Arm sofa
The mid-1800s, pre-civil war, rolled arm sofa, Empire Era. Recently reupholstered in gold brocade fabric, wood is either mahogany or walnut, I lean more towards mahogany because it is such a dark red. It is 88 inches wide, 37.5 tall at the back, and 26 inches deep for sitting. There is wood scrollwork at the back of arms. It sits on two wood pedestal type feet that run from front to back. It is extremely heavy and massive in size. There are 3 segmented cloth sections where people can lean back on.
The original owner was an airline stewardess for Pan American airlines during the sixties and seventies before retiring in Arizona. She traveled the world and collected antiques and other collectibles.
