Hi Garrett,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
“Ermekeil” is a Bonn family name active around the late 19th–early 20th century, tied to property development and ownership in the city but there does not appear to be a documented clockmaker named “Ermekeil” in Bonn in the traditional horological sense (i.e., a known master, workshop, or firm). The inclusion of the name on a clock could be the name of the retailer or the name of the owner but it's most likely to be the name of the seller.
There are probably details of this clock that indicate if it were made in Germany or France but stylistically, this clock is similar to gilt bronze examples made in France in the Empire period from the early 19th Century.
The figure on this clock looks like Hercules, who is often depicting wearing the skin of the Nemean lion on his head.
Based on what related clocks have been selling for recently, if this were to be sold at auction, it would probably realize between $500 and $1,000.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A French Empire Dore Bronze Figural Hercules Mantel Clock
unattributed French maker, retailed by Ermekeil in Bonn
7 x 10 x 3 inches
CONDITION: this appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: acquired from a garage or yard sale
$ 500-1,000*
