I have a collection of antique hand drawn fashion sketches from a 1920's NYC fashion designer, Ethel Rabin. These drawings were created for the purpose of sending to fabric manufacturers so they knew what to create. The photos are all on a semi-thick cardboard, 9x12 with her name written on each drawing.
I acquired these from a family friend who didn't know what to do with the drawings. Unknown where they came from before this.
Dear Scott,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This appraisal is for a pair of two original drawings in pencil and ink wash by the American artist Ethel Rabin and executed in the 1920s.
Size: 12" x 9" , unframed
Both signed on the lower right.
These drawings were originally made for Berley Studios, New York.
Their condition looks good overall.
Ethel Rabin's work has been offered at auction multiple times, and the estimation in red is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables.
Best regards,
Karine
