Title: Ethiopic Manuscript of the Book of Psalms (Dawit). ​Language: Ge'ez (Classical Ethiopic). ​Material: Handwritten on authentic vellum (animal skin/parchment). ​Date: Circa 18th - 19th Century (Estimated based on paleography and binding style). ​Script: Traditional ecclesiastical Ge'ez hand in black and red (rubricated) inks. ​Key Features: * Includes the First Psalm with a detailed polychrome "Harag" (interlacing headpiece) in traditional red, yellow, and black pigments. ​Contains "Melekket" (vocalic/musical notations) throughout the text for liturgical chanting. ​Rubricated text highlights the name of God (Egziabeher) and section headings. ​Binding: Original wooden boards covered with blind-tooled dark brown leather. The inner covers are lined with traditional patterned fabric (Paisley motif). ​Condition: In overall good antique condition, showing natural aging (patina) on the vellum and slight wear to the leather binding, consistent with its age and use.
