This rug is approximately 11x15’ in dimension, with cream, coral, light teal and beige as the primary colors. Wool is in very good condition with minimal wear except on fringe. A handful of light golden stains that I have not attempted to remove. Pile looks like .5-1” high. Only identification on back of rug is a piece of stapled fabric with numbers. (Pictures show these details). Any background on design or origin of this rug appreciated.
I bought this from a woman on Facebook marketplace after she recently bought it and realized it was too large for her space. She said the woman who had it before her acquired it after someone gave it to her husband (who works in the moving business) in Sevierville, TN. Apparently that owner bought a house and didn’t want to go through the trouble of moving the large rug, so they left it with the new owners.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a modern persians style rug, most likely manufactured in the 21st century in Afghanistan or Pakistan. The cream and coral colours and the high wood pile are tailored for today´s taste. There are a few moth related losses and stains which have an impact on the current market value. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
