This is a federalist style mirror. It is wooden (perhaps satinwood?) with gilt. There are flowers and leaves extending from the "vase" as the top. There are also a trail of flowers and leaves down the side.Thre is a panel near the top with a picture painted/outlines in gold paint with black etchings. It is 24" at the widest ad 49" high, not including the flowers and leaves coming out of the vase.
This was originally from my husband's great aunt (via his mother) who lived in Rockport MA. They are both deceased now so we are unable to determine where Aunt Edith obtained it. It may have been included with her estate when she died and we may possibly be able to get hold of the inventory from the estate if it was not tossed when his mother died.

Thanks, Beth. The frame is old but the backboards that hold the mirror plate are not as old as the frame and may mean that the mirror plate has been replaced at some point. A very nice mirror; the auction market for these is fairly soft at the moment.
Otherwise, you're all set.
Thank you so much. My husband and I will discuss this and will probably sell it in your marketplace.
Beth
Sure, let me take it down and take the pictures and I will upload them.
Thanks - Beth
