No name on clock face. Reverse of clock has “MADEILLE D’ARGENT 1889” in a circular stamped pattern about 13/32” diameter. Stamped numbers on back of clockwork 2637 and 58.

The "Medaille d'Or" mark on the back is that of Samuel Marti, who was a prominent French clockmaker active during the 19th century. He is best known for crafting high-quality mantel clocks and other timepieces. His clocks frequently featured intricate designs and incorporated high-grade materials.
His movements survive in a variety of different cases - which may or may not have been made by him as there were clockmakers in his time who just made the works - but most sell for between $600-900.

An antique French gilt bronze and alabaster marble mantel clock
works by Samuel Marti, France, circa 1890
The bronze dial with Roman numeral chapter rings suspended in a glass-framed case with cove-molded marble top and surmounted by a winged figure and flanked by alabaster elements, on an alabaster base with gilt bronze elements and feet. Back of clock stamped "S. Marti & Cie / Medaille d'Argent 1889" and inscribed with numbers "2637" and "58."
