11" x 11" Pastel drawing dated 1908.
Family.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an etching in colours by Vaughan Trowbridge ( american artist, 1869-1945) , signed lower right with the monogram VT, dated 1908 in the plate and signed in pencil and dedication "with aritist´s best regards to Max Rost" . Some tiny damages, losses done by insects lower right. The estimate is based on similar etchings sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
It is an etching in colors. You will notice the impressed paper at the edge of the depiction. Very likely very few prints were printed and yours might be an early print of the edition. My estimate is based on recent auction results. The artist would deserve higher prices, but currently the market is what it is.
Thank you for ascertaining the artist. As far as value I believe it to be worth substantially more that your estimate.I base that on the fact that this is an original and not a signed lithograph, that by the way all the lithographs I encountered sold for more than $35 to $65.
