Antique piece if furniture with hidden fold out table with bench seats.
Given to me by friend who said it was over 100 years old and had been in the family for a long time
This is a 20th century 'hide-away' furniture piece that converts from appearing to be a furniture cabinet and opens to reveal a pop-out table and benches for dining. This is done in the 'Murphy' style which was best known for folding hide-away beds in the late 19th through 20th centuries. These are ideal for apartment and small-space dwellers. This piece more likely dates to the 1930s at the oldest and is still considered 'vintage'. The overall style and aesthetic with the front facing design and use of ogee form iron legs is referred to as 'Spanish Colonial' or 'Spanish Baroque Revival'. The estimate is based on actual past recorded auction sales of comprables. Retail asking prices may be higher and will vary.
