Curious as to the value of the following 5 Fornasetti porcelin tea plates in my possession. Note 2 of the 5 are the same design and motif number on the back.
Boston-area antique building
Dear Emma,
Thank you for your request. The presented objects are five plates designed by Georg Piero FORNASETTI (1913-1988). They are the numbers 2 (two pieces), 4, 7, 8 from the "Soli e Lune" edition. The Soli e Lune Collection includes 8 plates with different motifs and was designed in the 1950s. So the presented collection would be classified as convoluted.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
A base auction estimation for each plate would be between 50 to 100 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Dear Emma,
Yes, complete sets are always more interesting for collectors and have a higher potential on the art or collective market.
With kind regards,
Georg
Thank you! I hope someday I can gather the whole set of 8. Does the cost value raise exponentially when all sold together?
