Hello I am Tiawaun Phillips, an amatuer rock hound from Clover SC, 30 minutes south of Charlotte. I am sharing my images of a clutch of what appears to be sea turtle eggs that I discovered on my other property in Cheraw SC, which is 1 hours SE of Charlotte. It is considered the Sandhills, and border of where the Sandhills and Piedmont meet, qnd was the shoreline of a shallow sea during prehistoric times. I sent photos to several universities and it was confirmed that it was some type of aquatic turtle. It was recommended that I take the specimen to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences to have it evaluated. I have not done this yet as Raleigh NC is 3hr from me. If more detailed images are needed please let me know. It is a really cool specimen I think. Tops of some of the eggs are eroded / broken away which gives you a glimpse into the egg to show the baby turtle fossil that is inside. Thank you for your time. Kind Regards, Tiawaun Phillips 803-879-0149 [email protected]
