This is a framed painting on canvas that measures 48 inches long by 24 inches tall. It appears to be in good condition. I have not been able to discover who the artist is after some research. The signed name appears to be "Andre" with a slash after it.
I acquired this painting from a neighbor who offered it to me when I helped her move. She said that she received it from her grandmother who brought it with her from Germany. The back of the frame says "Made in Holland" and has a large "B" next to it. This is all of the information that I have available.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a production line painting of the 1970s or 1980s, depicting classical architecture, possibly on Sicily. The signature "André" or "Andréj" is just a pseudonym of an unknown commercial artist. This type of decorative paintings were often sold to american servicemen stationed in Germany. The estimate is based on similar purely decorative paintings offered or sold at auction.
