According to my family the sword I was given was from my ancestor Christian Beringer whom supposedly fought in the Franco Prussian war in the unification of Germany, it has text on the blade that refers to an old saying by the kingdom of Prussia, meaning steadfast loyalty as well as firm in fidelity, as far as I can tell “in treue fest” is the only adornment to the sword aside from a sword knot hanging off the handle.
Owned by Franco Prussian ancestor named Christian Beringer
Dear Alex,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the stamps or engravings on the blade?
With kind regards,
Georg
