Frankart lamp two nudes holding green glass globe
Dealer
This is a vintage, early 20th century, Art Deco era and style, metal figural lamp of two female nudes standing back to back holding up a round green crackle glass shade that was manufactured by Frankart. Frankart was established by sculptor and designer, Arthur Frankenberg in 1924 in New York City; he left the company after a dispute in 1931 and Frankart was closed by 1935. Frankart wares are quintessential Art Deco and collectible. At one point, about a decade ago, an NYC flea market dealer purchased all of the 'old new stock' by Frankart that had been in a warehouse since when the company closed which brought alot of it back out in to the market. That dealer did re-paint most of those old new stock pieces in a light green to differentiate them from one's purchased originally in the 1920s - 1930s. I know this from personal interaction with that dealer at the 27th Street weekend sales in NYC. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
