Friar Tuck porcelain figure, removable head, made in West Germany.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Friar Tuck figurine by Wm Goebel, crafted in West Germany, is a cherished collectible representing the jovial, rotund friar from the Robin Hood legend. Made of fine porcelain, this piece reflects Goebel's attention to detail and craftsmanship. Popular in mid-20th century collections, the figurine captures Friar Tuck's characteristic joviality.
The notch on the back of the detachable head suggests this was a condiment holder and the notch was so that a spoon could remain inside with the handle protruding up through the back. While I can't find one selling individually online, I found a group of 8 Goebel Friar Tuck vessels and a tray that sold together for just $45 (https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/50525660_goebel-friar-tuck-monks-and-tray).
Based on this, a fair-market value for your condiment holder would be $5-10

Hi Delia, this figure is about 4" high. There is no slit in the top of the head, though there is a small notch in the lower rear head area (see new photo attached).
Thank you,
Steve
