Hi Laura,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Roundabout chairs are a type of corner chair popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, designed with a square seat and curved backrest to fit into corners. While they are useful, they are not very fashionable and with greater supply than demand, prices remain low.
Comparable examples offered at auction in recent months and years have sold for between $100 and $400; yours is a comparatively plain example worth $200-300.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique George IV maple "roundabout" or corner chair
English, early-mid 19th Century
The turned maple(?) frame with three block- and bulbous-turned spindles supporting a curved green-leather upholstered arm with brass tack trim over a diamond-shaped seat over-the-rail upholstered with green leather, raised on four turned legs ending in casters.
23 inches high. 24 inches wide.
CONDITION: This chair appears to be in good cosmetic condition; the upholstery is possibly later. Value assumes the upholstery is clear and that the frame does not have breaks, repairs or losses.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 200-300*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

Laura,
I couldn't tell if the upholstery was leather or not but it doesn't affect the value. If you have someone look at it and decide it's NOT leather, please let me know so I can update this appraisal accordingly.
Have a great day,
Delia
