This is a cuckoo clock that was owned by my German grandfather since he emigrated to the US in early 1900's. It is in excellent condition, has all of the parts. I had it checked in 1990 while living in California. It has been in storage since.

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Cuckoo clocks have a timeless charm that appeals to collectors, enthusiasts, and casual admirers alike. Their appeal comes from a mix of craftsmanship, history, novelty, and aesthetic pleasure. Traditional cuckoo clocks, especially those from the Black Forest region of Germany, are handcrafted with intricate woodwork. They showcase mechanical ingenuity: weights, gears, and bellows work in perfect harmony to power the timekeeping and the cuckoo call.
The defining feature is the cuckoo bird that pops out on the hour, often accompanied by moving elements like dancers, woodcutters, or water wheels. These animations are whimsical and bring a sense of playfulness and delight that static clocks don’t have. The combination of sound and movement gives the clocks a living, almost anthropomorphic quality.
I'm not finding any hallmarks of this to identify a specific maker. Other unattributed clocks of this size and form typically sell at auction for between $100 and $150 or less, given that the market has a greater supply than demand.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
