This stein is pottery or stoneware and a pewter lid. The scene has a raised texture and is a reproduction of a painting from Eduard von Grutzner (1846-1925). The stein had a newspaper picture of the original painting tucked inside. The bottom rim has a chip and some paint wear but looks good overall. It measures 10 inches in height with the lid included. The bottom says, "Gesetzlich Geschutzt, 1907, Germany."0.5 L is etched on the top of one side.
It was part of our German mother's estate. She collected beer steins for many years that she brought over from Germany.
