Dear Tonya,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a German WWII steel helmet M40. It was made out of steel with a leather inlay and has the emblem of the Luftwaffe. Such helmets were used by the numerous parts of the Luftwaffe which was responsible for the anti-aircraft defense in Germany. It was probably made between 1935 and 1945.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 400 to 600 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
