This is actually a custom piece of furniture that we made and were hoping to get an appraisal. The table measures 48 inches long, 24 inches wide, 18 inches high. 1 3/4 inch claro walnut slab top. Legs are forge-welded original Golden Gate Bridge suspender ropes (1935)
We designed and built it
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This is a most interesting blend of industrial design, history and beauty of walnut grain. Your refectory style "cabletable" is quite unique and the strands symbolize both strength, flexibility and the mist of Frisco Bay. With all the millions who´s life depended on those strands there should be some demand. Single short pieces of the strands sell in the price range of 150-300 USD at auction. Based on the material that went into the table I would see the estimate as listed above. A Frisco friend might be willing to pay more than the high estimate.
