Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Chinese blue and white porcelain covered baluster form "Double Happiness" ginger jar
Probably Guangxu period, second half 19th Century
Of baluster form, with blue and white stylized foliate decoration allover beneath Greek Key neck banding, centering the symbols for "double happiness" in the center of both the cover and the jar; marked underneath with four apochryphal character marks
14 inches tall (excluding lid)
CONDITION: chip losses to cover lip, firing cracks to underside of base.
PROVENANCE: Inherited from parents.
