a heavy clear glass bowl (?) with yellowish tint. It's 6" long, 3 3/4" wide, 2" deep. Has impression of weird looking face in glass on bottom of dish. Has handle with slight indentation maybe to be held by thumb (?). Very hard to describe without pic. Has bubbles in glass
Bought in box lot at auction several years ago. No one can indentify it.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The item appraised is a molded clear glass figural vessel. The glass is textured on the exterior and smooth on the interior. I am not completely sure of the function, but I am venturing an educated guess that it could have been an ash receiver/ash tray. It could possibly be a candy dish. The style of the face suggests that it was produced in the East, although Africa is a possibility as well. I do not see anything that would suggest this item is valuable, even though it is of a shape that is not easily identifiable. This perceived rarity does not always equate value. The estimate I have assigned the item is congruent with it being sold as a piece of molded decorative glass, produced second to third quarter of the 20th century.
Kind regards,
Corey
