Dear Tom,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I can make out the first name pretty well - it's Elio Raffaeli, who worked for a few different studios and who made a lot of dolphins on cresting waves, as yours is. I can't make out the second name, however. If you know what it says, please let me know and I'll update this and re-evaluate as necessary.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is;
A monumental Murano hand-blown two-toned glass leaping dolphin
made in Murano, Italy, probably mid 20th Century
graduated clear to blue, depicting a dolphin raised on a cresting wave
Signed "Raffaeli e ??"
42 inches long
PROVENANCE: acquired at auction
