Dear Lorraine,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The figurine is made out of porcelain and depicts a girl in a traditional flowered dress holding up a spring blossom and appears to be in good condition. It is marked with Hummel signature to back edge, incised with mold number 72 to the base, and marked with the blue trademark 2 “Full Bee” Goebel hallmark, which was used from 1940-1959. Hummel figurines are based on the drawing of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel (1909-1946). She was a German Franscian Nun who was studying art at the Academy of Applied Arts in Münich before becoming a nun in 1931. She taught at a school run by the convent and would spend her spare time drawing the children. Her drawings were first published as postcards and in 1934 they were compiled into a book, "Das Hummel-Buch", where her illustrations were accompanied by poems by Margarete Seemann. These works brought her to the attention of Franz Gobel, who obtained the exclusive rights to produce porcelain figurines based on her work. Their popularity grew in the United States when returning soldiers bought the home. Based on recent price realizations fair market value for your figurine would be between 25 and 50 US dollars.
Best Regards,
Morgan
Hi Mark
The incised mark is just the mold number. Earlier pieces have these and it does not affect the value. The figurines that I looked at to determine the fair market value were all produced during the same time frame as yours. I hope this answers your question.

This is not the number I am talking about. I know that is the mold number. I am talking about an incised V with the bee in it along with a separate stamped V with a bee in it. I am talking about 2 trademarks not a mold number

You can clearly see the incised trademark along with the stamped one in the picture
You have only given me information that I already know being around Hummels for quite some time. I feel I have been very clear about my question with it having 2 trademarks on it. Since you don't seem to understand my question please refund my money.
Hello Lorraine
I apologize if I was unclear in my initial appraisal and follow-up message, but I do understand your question. I've done some additional research and found no evidence that having both an incised and printed bee trademark affects the value of the piece, so my valuation remains the same ($25-50)
This figurine has both the stamped mark and an incised mark. They usually have just one of these. Wouldn't it be worth more since having both is very rare? You didn't mention anything about the incised mark just the blue mark.
