Gold Nath Talwar
Talwar dated back to the middle 19th century North India. It has a gold engraved handle that is 98% intact. The handle is engraved with a unique design of flowers and peacock. Watered steel wootz blade that was recently sharpened. Comes with original wooden scabbard with cloth overlay.
I obtained it from a weapons collector and that the previous owner had it professionally sharpened.

The presented object appears to be a North Indian Talwar sword with a total length of 36 inches. The hilt is rich decorated with a gold inlay work depicting garden or paradise motifs like peacocks and flowers. The blade is quite simple in comparison to the blade and not decorated with engravings or inlay works. It is made out of wootz steel and was resharpened. The scabbard is covered with colorful patterned fabric. This sword was probably made in North India in the 19th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 800 to 1600 USD.
