This is a late 19th century, Victorian era, circa 1890, chair that is not Gothic Revival in style, but Italian Renaissance Revival. The overall form shape of the chair is inspired by Savonarola chairs from the Italian Renaissance era in the 15th century. The carved faces are referred to as grotesques, the main face on the chair back is sometimes also called a bellarmine. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
