sligh grandfather clock model 0316-1-au reg. 171-0018-14 Good condition
Hi Tammy,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Sligh's grandfather clock model model 0316-1-AU (registration 171-0018-14) showcased elegant French Country design and craftsmanship. It was manufactured by Sligh-Lowry Furniture Co. in Holland, Michigan and featured a movement by Franz Hermle, a reputable German maker.
While these clocks retailed for between $1,900 and $2,400 when new in the late 1960s-80s, they haven't appreciated measurably and, with the current antiques market as it is, this clock would likely sell for not more than $500 at auction
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Sligh French provincial cherrywood tall-case clock
made in Michigan, probably 1970s-80s
approximately 7 feet tall
CONDITION: This clock appears to be in good condition; working condition not warranted but value assumes this does not need significant repairs to become working again.
PROVENANCE: Acquired from a gallery or dealer
$ 300-500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
