Dresser and bed were my grandmother's childhood set we think circa 1890s They are both Mahogany, red , original finish. The set is a bed with headboard , foot board, and wood side rails. The dresser is five drawer with silvered mirror. All pulls are brass and original. Mirror is also mahogany framed and original silvered glass. There is a tag still on the back of the head board " D.D. Brown" and an address in Binghamton, NY (Picture) and a hand written name and possibility a date but it is smeared and hard to read. Head board 60" X 57", Foot board 60" X 37", Dresser is 33" tall, 52" wide and 27" deep in the center and 23" deep on the sides.
There is a photo of my grandmothers mother sitting in front of the dresser. There is a tag on the back that appear to be the original store that sold it.
Thank you for submitting your items for appraisal. This appears to be a late 19th century american dresser / chest of drawers with mirror, with two large and three smaller drawers, with rococo revival brass pulls and escutechons, on cabriole legs, together with a bed of the same period. Although this type of furniture is built to last and both type of wood and design has an inherent beauty, the demand for such is rather low today. The estimate is based on auction results for similar in recent auctions. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
