This Indian dravidian piece of art looks to be from Chola dynasty but i am not sure ! I have no proficiency at all in art expertise, whether Indian or from any other country. or civilization. I used to work in banking business for 40 years, but I have been a retiree for the last 20 years. I bought this statue at a garage sale in France some 30 years ago, and by the way I do not possess any invoice or guarantee for it. I would like now to sell it in order to finance some rehabilitation works on my property. Well, if you are interested and if you think it has a sufficient value compared to what I can see on the Web, please do not hesitate to contact me. You'll find a detailed description with pictures on the attached file.

Hello, this item is a carved stone sculpture depicting a standing female figure in a stylized South Indian manner, executed in coarse-grained granite or similar hard stone. The figure displays simplified anatomical modeling, drilled piercings at the arms and torso, and repetitive incised ornament rather than the refined iconographic detailing, proportional canon, and sculptural finish associated with authentic Chola period temple sculpture from the 9th to 13th century. The surface texture, carving technique, and overall stylization indicate modern workshop production inspired by medieval Dravidian prototypes rather than a historical Chola dynasty artifact. Such pieces were widely produced in India during the 20th century for the decorative export and tourist market.
From a market standpoint, genuine Chola stone figures of this size command five-figure and higher auction results, while later decorative carvings trade in the ethnographic and decorative arts market at modest levels. Comparable modern Indian granite devotional or decorative carvings of similar scale and quality typically sell between $150 and $400 USD depending on condition, age, and aesthetic appeal.
Than you very much for this quick and well explained value estimation and origine !
