I did a fairly exhaustive search through the artist databases and this may have been made after an original by Aarre Aaltonen (Finnish, 1889-1980). I've not found the exact model to confirm the attribution though. A few of these figures are online, none priced very high though...
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Possibly by Aarre Aaltonen, marked AA with AP or DP foundry marks, 20th Century
13 inches tall
