Thank you for contacting Mearto. This is a russet jade sculpture of Chinese origin. The skillfulness of the artist is clear in the details. The inscription seems to read 林丘心 or perhaps 林色/龟. I was unable to find matches for these. You may try to send a picture to an auction house like Christie’s HK just in case they can recognize it. Don’t be afraid of emailing people there directly.

I think since the paint used in the inscription is such a vivid non-organic green, it is a 20th century work. The material appears to me to be jade but could possibly be shoushan or agate. I have included links below to similar items and their hammer prices to give you an idea of the market.

Again, I really think the artist is a master. The detailing is far above what I normally see. Besides Christie’s, you can try posting it on Facebook groups dedicated to jade carving. I’ve linked to them below. Someone there may be able to tell you more about the work.
