Picked up because it looks cool and looked similar to heriz styles I’ve seen. Worth taking a shot at. Decent condition with minor blemishes as illustrated in the pictures.

Hello,
Your item is a geometric runner rug identified as either a Heriz or Kilim style based on the design and craftsmanship. The Heriz rugs, originating from the Heris region of northwest Iran, are known for their bold geometric patterns and deep colors. In contrast, Kilims are flat-woven rugs typically made in regions of Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus, distinguished by their lightweight structure and absence of pile. The design seen here, with its geometric motifs and strong use of color, leans towards traditional Kilim weaving, although the pattern might have stylistic connections to Heriz.
The rug appears to have some wear and tear, as noted by the user, including visible fraying and missing threads, particularly around the edges. This damage can affect the value, especially if it impacts the structural integrity of the weave. The colors, however, remain vibrant, which is a positive feature for collectors, as the natural dyes typically used in older Kilim or Heriz rugs are prized for their longevity and aesthetic appeal. The dimensions of the rug are approximately 5.3 x 11.4 feet, which is standard for a runner rug, fitting well in hallways or narrow spaces.
