Handmade Lace & Silk Wall Hanging
This lace was created by my Great Grandmother in Germany circa 1875. The lace is sewn onto a piece of pale, blue silk. She handmade it using lace with point de Gace and additional techniques. The wall hanging is 8ft by 8ft.
My Great Grandmother handmade it in Germany circa 1875 and it has stayed in my family ever since, passed down through the generations. Aside from a few small stains, it's in excellent condition. As far as I know, it's never been exhibited and has remained in the care of our family since it's creation.

CONDITION: not examined in person but appears to be in a remarkable state of preservation. Silk backing possibly later than lace panel.
