Thank you for submitting you item for appraisal. This appears to be a 20th century standing hotei statue of some kind of cast material. The buddha is shown standing with his hands over his head, holding an imaginary silver ingot.
These statues are made for home decor and are available in all shapes and sizes. The estimate is based on similar offered or sold at auction.
Thanks for the additional photo. It appears to be mixture of cast resin and chalk, gypsum or marble powder. If touched it should feel rather warm and not cold as stone. There is no difference in value, whatever cast material it is. You might notice tiny open air bubbles from the casting process. Wish you best luck with it, just as the Hotei does.
Klaus, one last thing the statue has a small three section pyramid marking with 0-203. & 7-72 and a small circle with a C in it. Also no bubbles and it is a cold statue. Does this marking mean anything? Thank you again for your help.
The "c" in a circle is a Copyright sign. A clear indication that this is a mass produced item.
Klaus, this Happy Hotei Buddha is 52" by 21" and weighs over sixty pounds. It is made of some kind of thick plaster. I have a few more photos if that will help get me a more accurate appraisal.
