Estate sale
Dear Dale,
Thank you for your request. Sadly regarding technical problems my message/ estimation was not displayed. I apologize for the delay.
The presented object is a ceramic cachepot or urn with the measurements of 9 x 8 inches. The color and the quality of the glaze are a hint that this piece could be made by Haeger. Usually, their products are hallmarked or stamped. This piece could be made in the middle of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Thank you kindly. I notice that several Heager art I have seen and/or own are identified with a paper "Heager" sticker and 3 felt protectors. Not embossed with Heager. I believe the adhesive residue from such a sticker is shown on one corner of the base It is not a flaw. I plan to later submit other pieces for appraisal. Some have sticker intact. Some don't. All have the 3 felt dots. DMorgan
Dear Dale,
stickers and labels can be removed easily. In this case, the a bit translucent quality of the ceramic is in my eyes the main argument.
With kind regards,
Georg
I want to sell this item. DMorgan
I'm not seeing translucency. Will check images I transmitted. Question may rest in quality of photo.
Dear Dale,
Offer it to an local auction house.
With kind regards,
Georg
Will do. Local auction house nearby.
I have no info to add. My pottery and other art was found and purchased in the 1980s and 1990s at yard sales, garage sales, thrift stores etc. I didn't keep notes. I wanted them for my own enjoyment.
