One foot by two foot wooden frame of Hilan Delgado
family member
This is a framed print entitled Hilan Delgado. The image is by the Master Spanish Court painter, Francisco de Goya (1746-1828). It is an illustrated page from his album entitled Los Caprichos, which was a critical statement on foolishness in Spanish society at that time. There were 80 prints total in the album which were done in aquatint and etching. The prints were created from 1797 - 1798 and then published in 1799. Los Caprichos was then reprinted numerous times since then. Hilan Delgado means "They Spin Finely" , its was plate 44 out of the 80 in the album. The value of your print would really depend on whether it is from the first published album or the 2nd or 3rd printing or from a much later printing. Close-ups of the surface will help with establishing that. The estimate here is based on the minimum being a later printing and the maximum being an early printing from the 1st edition.
You should try swann's auction house on 104 East 25th street, they handle alot of prints for auction.
