What does this mean?

Hello Deborah,

I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,

Considering the photographs, overall pattern, material and the details, I concluded that this is a Silver Plated Centerpiece depicting three Rearing Horses and a Frosted Glass bowl carried by them upon their heads. Dating back to 1970-1980 period. Horses were almost always important figures for sculpting art, your piece's artist also choose horses as the model. Your piece shows many traces from 1970's and early 1980's. Horses were heavily used in molded arts back in 1970's, especially brass and bronze artists of the time.Your piece can be considered of verage quality for the time, since the details of the horses are not rendered very detailed.

Underneath the piece, the type of screw nuts used are modern Phillips style elements. This helps us date your piece to the last quarter of the 20th century. The glass on top of the piece might be original or might be matched with the piece by a previous owner or seller. It is a frozen glass body, probably designed as a fruit, candy or a cookie bowl. Overall in good condition without visible faults. Very decorative and silver plated as stated by the owner.

Silver Plated.

Dimensions: 13 Inches Tall Without the Bowl and 17 Inches Tall With The bowl. Bowl is 17.5 Inches Wide and the peice is 19" Wide at the widest point.

Provenance: Purchased in Palm Beach about 30 years ago.
