This appears to be what you suggested, a Hummel figurine, number 344 titled "Schwanenteich" or "feathered friends", manufactured by Goebel in the 1970s. This particular slip cast and hand painted figurine was very popular and sold successfully for a long period of time. Many identical figurines are being offered at auction today. The value is driven by supply and demand, today the supply side is high and demand is much lower than it used to be. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
