Height: 4.5” Hummel #: 226 In excellent condition
It’s one of the Hummel figurines in my grandmother’s collection. I’m not sure where she purchased it from but it went straight from the box into here collection cabinet. Probably purchased in the 70’s - 90’s
Dear Thomas,
Thank you for your request and your patience. The apprised object is a porcelain figurine made by the manufacturer Goebel and after the designs of Maria Innocentia Hummel (1909-1946). The name of this model is "The Mail Is Here", which has model number #226 and the hallmark indicates that this piece was made between circa 1972–1979 (TMK-5). The figurine has a height of 4.5 inches and is dated by hand in black (19)80. The difference between the trademark and the named date 1980 can be explained that this piece was modeled, burned, and marked in 1979 and handpainted in 1980.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 100 to 180 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
