Dear Ronnie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images? Is this work signed? Also, can you give me the dimensions of the painting and let me know if you see anything on the reverse, such as a label etc.?
Thanks,
Karine

Dear Ronnie,
Thank you for getting back to us so quickly. Please find below a description along with an estimate of your painting which appears to be after the British artist called Arthur John Elsley (1861-1952)
Oil painting
Sight: 9.5 (h) x 8 (w) inches
Framed: 18 (h) x 16 (w) inches
Copy of the original painting called "I'se biggest."
Signed on the lower right
Gilt period frame
Excellent condition
Arthur John Elsley was a genre painter, best known for his charming paintings of Victorian English children playing with domestic animals. This small work is after an original by Elsley exhibited in the Royal Academy annual exhibition in 1882. The original painting became such a success towards the end of the 19th century that it was re-engraved several times during his successful career.
The estimation in red is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. In many cases, pricing for similar items available on the primary (retail) market vary and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
Best regards,
Karine
