I would like to request an expert appraisal for an antique dagger (likely Indian or Indo-Persian) featuring a high-quality Wootz steel (Jawhar) blade likely from 18 Century
06 March 2026
Description

Blade: The blade exhibits a very distinct and fine Wootz watered pattern (Jawhar), showing no signs of modern etching. It appears to be an authentic historical piece. Hilt (Handle): The hilt is made of natural bone or ivory with visible aged patina and fine natural cracking (craquelure), indicating significant age. Metalwork: The bolster and tang straps are decorated with traditional geometric engravings/inlays (possibly Koftgari technique). Condition: The blade is well-preserved with clear visibility of the steel's crystalline structure. The hilt is firm and retains its original character
