The painting is of a dancing girl next to a gazelle. It is 21" wide and roughly 32" in hieght. It has creese lines from being folded for a very long time. The material, i think, is of a very light canvas or cloth.

Dear Clark,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or tempera paint on canvas with the measurements of 32 x 21 inches. The painting depicts a dancing woman and an Antilope in a style that is typical for North Indian art. The canvas is a hint that this piece was made in the middle or second half of the 20th century.
This piece is in medium condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 50 to 100 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Clark,
Thank you for your email. The used canvas is a machine-woven canvas how it is used since the late 19th or early 20th century. Dating in the 1930s or 1940s could be possible.
With kind regards,
Georg
Hello Georg, thank you for the appraisal.
I am thinking it could be older. My wife’s father acquired it on the frame in the early 60’s. Prior to that, it had been in someone’s possession folded for long time by the folded creas marks.
Is it possible it could be from the mid 19th century or later half of 19th century?
Thank You
Best Regard, Clark
