Infant boy cradling a Lamb.
16 March 2018
Description

Canvas. Little boy with Lamb. Frame approx 18 in x 12 inch. Purchased in antique store about 25 years ago.

Provenance

I had bought it for my mom's bday more than 25 years ago. When she passed away I acquired it. I have seen this very picture on jewelry boxes being sold in a store I cannot remember. I don't know who the artist is but I would love to know. It is on canvas. I don't know if it's original or print. Please someone tell me the artists name.

What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. Please excuse the delay. This appears to be an offset print on canvas after the painting "San Giovannino con l'agnello" by Bernardino Luini (* ca.1480 -† 1532 Milano).
These offset prints are of purely decorative value of course, but the late 20th century frame was most likely expensive when bought. The estimate is based on similar frames offered or sold at auction
