The pew has a seat which allows storage, The back of the seat is bentwood and and the ends are barley twist.
I have owned this for 30 years. It was purchased from Cintra House Antiques. It is well over 50 years old.
Dear Susan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be an oak pew with unknown measurements. The bench is a two-seater and the seating area is hinged to storage things of the household. Such benches were common since the medieval age because of simple and efficient construction. This piece was made in the late 19th or more probable in the 20th century as period furniture.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
