It is in very very good condition. My uncle who had passed said it might need a little tuning and just rewound to get it to chime. But it is a daneker grandfather clock and i still have the paperwork with it

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
So that I may best assist you, can you please confirm if this clock has chimes/plays music?
I can see that it has a pendulum - does it also have weights, chimes and key(s)?
Thanks,
Delia
Hi Anthony,
Rather than hold up this appraisal waiting to see if this has weights, chimes and keys, I'll assume it does not so please let me know if it does and I'll update the appraisal as necessary...
Daneker clocks, known for their quality, were made in Fallston, Maryland by Rutherford Daneker, Sr. and his sons, starting in the late 1940s, until the factory burned down in 1969, ceasing all manufacturing.
A lot of clocks were sold in that era and many are coming to market these days as their original buyers (or descendants of buyers) are looking to sell them. Most of those that chime and in working condition (and including all of their parts) bring between $300-500 when sold at auction, those that need work and/or parts usually sell for between $200-300.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Daneker mahogany tall-case clock
made in Fallston, MD., circa 1950s
With an arched hood over a glazed tombstone bonnet door opening to a cast brass and steel clock dial with Arabic chapter rings, moon-phases dial and cast brass spandrels, the case with molded oculi and door opening to a pendulum.
Retains the original purchase paperwork
78 inches high
