VINTAGE RARE Tall Elegant Italian Glazed Ceramic Stoneware Tessuto Vase This slender bottle-form vase is hand-crafted stoneware, thus dense and resistant to liquids (i.e., non-porous). These vases are rarely found, particularly those originating from Italy where earthenware was generally favored. This vase is particularly striking for its use of bright-colors and glaze. The vertical grooved relief running the length of this vase created a series of channels for the glaze to bleed down. This combined with the gold, burgundy and black accents all come together to further emphasize the exaggerated length of the piece. Our research indicates that this vase was quite likely made in the 1960s The bottom of this piece carries etched markings which we believe to be numbers.
